EP Climbing and Bend Endurance Academy

EP Climbing is thrilled to announce our partnership with Bend Endurance Academy (BEA) in the development of an innovative youth training center. As pioneers in the indoor climbing industry and manufacturers of cutting-edge climbing walls, we were chosen by BEA to collaborate on this exciting project. Together, we aim to empower young climbers and provide them with a world-class training facility. This partnership represents a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to revolutionize the climbing industry and inspire climbers of all ages and skill levels.

Advancing the Climbing Landscape

“For over three decades, EP Climbing has been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing state-of-the-art climbing walls. “We are passionate about bringing world-class climbing experiences to enthusiasts worldwide,” said Bryce Benge, CEO of EP Climbing USA. “Our partnership with Bend Endurance Academy aligns perfectly with our vision of making climbing accessible to all, especially young athletes seeking to excel in the sport.”

EP’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of climbing wall design is evident in our track record. From our groundbreaking Freeform walls, which sparked an indoor climbing revolution, to being selected as the official supplier of climbing walls for the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and Paris Olympics in 2024, we constantly evolve with the sport. We are proud partners and suppliers to prestigious organizations such as the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) and USA Climbing (USAC).

Transforming Vision into Reality: Second Organization in the U.S. with a Dedicated Climbing Facility for Youth Climbing Programs

“One of the trends we’re seeing in our state across all youth sports is a high demand for space for practices as well as competitions and events,” said Mike Rougeux Executive Director of Bend Endurance. “Climbing hasn’t been immune to those demands, which are currently outpacing the actual supply of space. With this facility, we are able to be purposeful in its design to accommodate that demand.”

BEA’s commitment to athletic development and outdoor education perfectly complements EP Climbing’s expertise. The collaboration aims to provide aspiring climbers with an exceptional facility that nurtures their skills and passion. “The decision to partner with EP on this project was driven not only by their close proximity, but also because they understood my needs and saw my vision,” said Rougeux. “Working with wall designers who possess experience in competition climbing, commercial and event route setting, as well as extensive coaching expertise, ensured that we were all speaking the same language.”

Benefits for Youth Climbers

Through this facility, BEA aims to provide young climbers with numerous benefits:

World-Class Facilities:
The training center will feature EP Climbing’s innovative climbing walls, thoughtfully designed to simulate challenges athletes face during competitions. As Cate, a route setter for BEA, explains, “the wall design and quality are incredibly important to creating engaging and creative climbs for our athletes. With EP’s experience crafting competition walls, I know we’ll be giving route setters the best terrain to work with to suit the needs of a wide range of climbers.” The facility offers a dynamic and engaging space where aspiring athletes can explore their potential, cultivate their talent, and ignite their passion for climbing.

Expert Coaching:
With the support of BEA’s experienced coaches and trainers, young climbers will receive personalized instruction and mentorship tailored to their skill levels and aspirations.

Thriving Community:
The training center will serve as a vibrant hub for climbers to connect, learn from one another, and foster a supportive community that encourages growth and collaboration.

Inclusivity and Accessibility:
Together, we are committed to making climbing more accessible. With BEA’s new youth program-specific climbing facility, they will become one of only two organizations in the country dedicated to providing young climbers with a dedicated and tailored space for their training and development. This facility will create opportunities for young competitive climbers to pursue their passion and reach their full potential in the sport.

Exciting Opportunities:
In addition to serving young climbers, the youth training center will become a focal point for competitive climbers across the West Coast. The venue plans to host competitions, clinics, and training camps.

“Competitions are a driving force in the climbing world, and they serve as a platform for climbers to showcase their talent, connect with others, and strive for excellence,” said Benge. “Through our partnership with BEA, we are thrilled to design and build walls at the training center that not only facilitate individual growth but also foster a strong sense of community and camaraderie among young climbers. It’s about creating a space where they can thrive both as individuals and as part of a supportive climbing community.”

Clinics and training camps led by experienced climbers and industry experts will offer invaluable knowledge and skills development. Whether beginners or seasoned climbers, participants will have the chance to learn, grow, and share their passion for climbing.

The partnership between EP Climbing and Bend Endurance Academy marks a significant chapter in our journey to bring climbing to everyone. Together, we are creating a youth training center that combines EP Climbing’s expertise in design and manufacturing with BEA’s commitment to athletic development. This collaboration will empower young climbers, shape the future of the sport, and foster a vibrant climbing community. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project as we work towards providing young climbers with unparalleled training facilities and opportunities.
