MARCH 17, 2020
MESSAGE FROM CBJ PUBLISHER TO OUR ADVERTISERS
I don’t need to tell you, our industry, and the world, is facing great challenge.
However while this virus is unprecedented, downturns are not. Our culture and economy has faced many challenges through history, and we always come back stronger. Everyone today will be working towards recovery before we expect it. We will climb again.
Smart businesses understand they need to maintain marketing through downturns. In the coming weeks/months as recovery begins, marketing to regain business will be more important than ever. We hope you will continue your marketing at CBJ during this time, and we are working on additional ways to expose your brand and build value for you. Our website traffic has noticed an uptick over the last month as gym managers grapple with this virus and seek advice. That additional traffic is additional value to those businesses who choose to market at CBJ. Plainly: your ads are worth more right now.
And we are using our funds to support our industry. Over the past few days we have worked with several volunteers to build this resource listing all gym closures. We endeavor to keep it updated, not only during this period of cascading closures, but also when all these gyms reopen.
At CBJ we have put together this page of collected links from our industry that we think may be valuable. If you have additional resources you think belong on this page, please send to me. We are in contact with Climbing Wall Association, Gym Climber, Climbing Mag and Access Fund to include their updates and augment their message.
Thank you for being a part of the CBJ advertiser family. We are working to make you proud and happy with your marketing investment at CBJ. Do not hesitate to reach out to me directly if you would like to discuss anything. Joe will also be in touch soon with our spring media kit which was in the works before this virus hit us all. There are some new slots available come March 31.
I will end with the same message I’ve been telling everyone for the last few weeks: focus on your health, and manage your stress. That is the #1 risk factor you have control over. We care about you.
Be well my friends. We will climb again!!!
