Routesetter

Triangle Rock Club is looking for routesetters to join our team! With five full-service facilities, we have job opportunities available in both Richmond, VA and the Triangle region in NC.

Our team is a characterized by a spirit of team-work, empathy, and intentionality.  Our Setters play an integral part in fulfilling our mission to enhance and transform the lives of others through climbing, fitness, and yoga.

Experience:

• Commercial routesetting experience is preferred
• Minimum one year climbing experience is required
• Ability to climb V4 of 5.11 required

Time Commitment:

• Must be fully available to work at least two shifts per week (~15 hours/week) during daytime hours (8am-6pm)
• Must commit to a minimum employment of six months, nine months preferred
• Growth opportunities for full time hours available depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Setting routes and problems according to the facility schedule and necessary grade distribution
• Assisting with offsite jobs as needed
• Assisting with preparation for the day’s work
• Assisting with daily setting as well as wall maintenance tasks
• Assisting with daily clean-up
• Finishing daily tasks in a safe, timely, and efficient manner
• Giving and receiving constructive feedback about grade, fairness, and any safety issues

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Regularly standing up and walking often within facility location
• Regularly needing to climb or balance on facility equipment
• Regularly working at height
• Ability to lift heavy loads of 50 pounds or more and complete strenuous physical labor regularly
• Work environment is primarily in an open gym facility with occasional extreme heat, cold, or sound
