Routesetter

Reach Climbing and Fitness, the Northeast’s premier rock climbing facility is seeking a full or part time routesetter. Reach is located in Bridgeport PA outside of Philadelphia. We are a ground up full service facility with an annex facility next door called the Factory. The Factory is a bouldering gym dedicated to team and youth competition training. This position will work under the Director of Routesetting, and set at both facilities.

Job Description: 

Candidates must be comfortable setting a wide rage of routes and boulders ranging from 5.4 to 5.13+ and V0 to V10+

Candidates must display their willingness to work as part of the team to set the best routes and boulders possible with an open mind in regards to feedback and changes.

Ability to set high quality routes and boulders in varying styles and difficulties

Ability to work at heights in compliance with OSHA and CWA work at heights standards

Ability to perform safety checks with confidence, ensuring a safe facility.

Ability to confidently and safely operate machinery (Boom Lift, training provided)

Ability to work long hours during events

Ability to lift and maneuver work materials up to and exceeding 50lbs

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2+ years of routesetting experience required both in route and boulder disciplines

Advance knowledge and confidence in climbing routes and boulders

Level 2 USAC climbing certification preferred but not required

Active USAC routesetting member and Safesport course completed

High attention to detail

Valid Driver’s license and Criminal Background Check

Confidence in displaying and promoting our climbing community

High level of Professionalism and Integrity
