    Job Summary

    The Facilities Manager will manage the day to day operations of the facilities team in a geographic area or region, performing all administrative and staffing related responsibilities for the region.  They will also directly support one Movement facility in the region as primary Facilities Associate.  The position will report directly to the Facilities Director.

     

    What you’ll be doing as Facilities Manager:

    • Oversees repairs and maintenance for the facilities within their geographic area/region
    • Manages a team of facilities associates, and in partnership with them, ensures our facilities are well maintained and repairs are made in a timely manner
    • Ensures small CAPEX projects are completed as part of regular maintenance
    • Responsible for overseeing and managing their region’s facilities department budgets, meeting department and gym targets, approving expenses and partnering with local Facility Associates to determine priority and cost.
    • Reviews and audits the Asana Facilities Task projects (1 per facility), and ensuring timely execution of repairs/maintenance in line with priorities and budget, and provides clear communication and updates for key stakeholders
    • Responsible for managing the team, schedules, and processing payroll
    • Responsible for hiring, training new facility associates in partnership with the Facility Director
    • Supports one Movement Facility in your region as primary Facility Associate
    • Has regular presence in every location within their region
    • Responsible for maintaining regional asana projects ensuring timely execution and communication with key stakeholders in partnership with the Facility Associate.
    • Is the point person for their region:
    • Partners with Senior Directors to ensure clear communication with Director teams on facilities issues
    • Regularly meets with Facilities Director and other
    • Facilities Managers to ensure alignment with company goals and policies.
    • Coordinates with the Facilities Director to provide support staffing for CAPEX, Strike Team or similar projects

    What you’ll be doing as Facility Associate for your gyms:

    • Meet bi-weekly with Gym management to prioritize and plan.
    • Perform general maintenance.
    • Uses project management software, Asana, to manage tasks.
    • Coordinates with Facilities Service Providers when projects or repairs require a trade skill (such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc). While communicating progress to GD/AD via project software and direct communications
      Coordinates monthly and annual maintenance calendar, and facilities requests from the gym, preparing schedule, timeline, costs and staffing needs proposal, then executing the proposal when approved.
    • Manages relationships with contractors and service providers (fitness equipment providers, pest control, etc.)
    • Keeps maintenance logs and reports on daily activities, keeping directors in the loop.
    • Monitors equipment inventory and places orders when necessary.
    • Performs manual repairs and conducts (or coordinates) general upkeep procedures, such as landscaping, painting, light carpentry, foam padding repairs and replacement, etc.
    • Supervises and performs Rope and Anchors checks
    • Ensures that the employee work in the gyms is performed in a safe manor and complies with applicable safety requirements. This includes rope-access work as needed for repairs and inspections.
    • Responds to and addresses urgent maintenance outside normal business hours if necessary.
    • Maintains info log and contact info for each gym on frequent repair service providers such as HVAC, Fire, Alarm, etc.

    What success looks like:

    • Create an environment of success for facilities department team members, including maintaining a culture that is collegial and tracks with the company’s values and goals
    • Prioritize administrative support to facilities team members, allowing them to focus their time on their primary responsibilities.
    • Ensure that all gyms in the region are maintained
    • Ensure that communication between facilities and Ops department is efficient & effective
    • Ensure that larger projects are completed in a timely way and tracked accurately

    Gotta have:

    • Full time hours with a flexible schedule (ex: flex to work late nights, early mornings and weekends if work is needed to be done during non-business/busy hours)
    • Experience leading teams of people
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Strong mechanical aptitude.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
    • Able to work independently, but in line with gym and director goals
    • Ability to safely use and supervise use of power tools and ladders.
    • Ability to keep track of and report on an activity.
    • Organized and efficient, and able to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to perform Rope Access work and be comfortable working on ropes at height (training available).
    • Supports and embodies Movement’s core values
    • Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Asana).
    • Ability to work on a ladder and lift 50lbs.
    • Have a valid driver’s license and/or ability to travel to all regional gyms regularly.

    Bonus points for:

    • Work at heights certification
    • Technical expertise in one or more building trade (4+ years of work experience.
    • Experience with interviewing, hiring, on-boarding, performing yearly reviews
    • Experience managing budgets in a project-based environment

    • This is a full-time position
    • The annual salary for this position ranges from $68,000 to $75,000. Actual pay rate will vary based on a candidate’s location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
    • This role is based in New York City– applicants will be assigned a primary location but must be available to work at all regional locations, including Pennsylvania as needed.
