Full Time Routesetter

Metrorock Brooklyn is looking for a Full Time Routesetter (32+ hours per week) who is driven, takes initiative, and communicates effectively.  A Full Time Routesetter is expected to play an instrumental role in creating the product that our customers interact with and consume. They will be responsible for meeting all quotas assigned by the Head Setter and all day to day tasks required.

Job Responsibilities

• Creating routes and boulders that meet Metrorock standard
• Participate in numerous competitions (USAC, Dark Horse, Etc.) and events hosted by Metrorock Brooklyn and other Metrorock locations.
• Participating in rope and wall maintenance.
• Foster connection and community within the Metrorock Community
• Utilization and adoption of Kaya/Plastick software within our setting program and the community

Job Qualifications:

• Extensive setting and climbing experience in a commercial climbing facility
• High level of understanding of climbing movement
• Ability to test and evaluate the quality of climbs across a wide variety of styles. The ability to climb V8 and 5.12+ in multiple styles is preferred, but not required with the appropriate skillset.
• Be able to provide and receive constructive criticism respectfully and work well with others within the setting team and within all areas of the gym.
• Perform all tasks and responsibilities with professionalism

Additional Details

• This is a full-time, hourly position
• Compensation for this role starts at $27.00/hour, commensurate with experience
