Floor Manager

Gripstone Climbing & Fitness is looking for a full-time Floor Manager to join their team.  Gripstone is a state-of-the-art, 19,000 square foot climbing gym located in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Floor Manager will oversee the Front Desk associates and act as a keyholder, managing shift operations for all incoming customers and members.  This is a full-time position, averaging 25-35hrs per week at the rate of $18/hr, with the option of signing up for company subsidized healthcare (after an initial 90 day trial period).

 

Preferred Qualities/Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a climbing gym
  • Minimum 1 year experience in management capacity

Required Qualities/Work Experience:

  • Ability to work 8 hour shifts (and the occasional 10-12 hour shift) on weekdays, nights, and weekends
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone and email
  • Possess and display an enthusiastic and engaging attitude
  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess and demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to be a team player
  • Must possess and demonstrate the drive to grow personally and professionally
  • Ability to inspire and lead our team of Front Desk Associates positively and equitably
  • Familiarity with and basic proficiency in Google Suite (docs, sheets, slides) and Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, powerpoint)
  • Customer service oriented approach and ability to communicate effectively via phone and email
  • Minimum 18 years old

In addition to the requirements listed above, the responsibilities for Floor Manager will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and assisting Front Desk Associates
  • Enforcement of daily Front Desk duties and cleaning tasks
  • Field customer service concerns and escalations
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly rental equipment inspections
  • Assist in staff training, perform belay test-outs, classes, and other instructional classes
  • Close out the POS system at the end of the night and execute nightly deposits
  • Open and close the facility as a keyholder
  • Engage with customers professionally and congenially
  • Floor time: belaying oversight, spotting oversight, auto-belay oversight, member and guest engagement
  • Direct visitors and customers to fill out liability waivers, while ensuring that waivers for children under the age of 18 are completed by a parent or legal guardian
  • Processing / data entry of any applicable paperwork into the Rock Gym Pro software system
  • Guide new customers to our video orientation and also give them a personal orientation
  • Set up memberships and have knowledge of all membership options/prices
  • Transact any and all POS interactions for the member or guest
  • Guide customer through any retail purchase, including pro shop items
  • Answer / direct all incoming phone calls
  • Book intro classes, birthday parties, programs into RGP
