Bridges Rock Gym was founded in 2009. We are an indoor climbing and fitness facility where climbers, slackliners, and fitness enthusiasts convene in a fun and social environment. Our goal is to offer the best indoor bouldering experience possible, as well as outstanding fitness programs and equipment while sustaining a dynamic, cohesive, and engaging workplace.

Description
Bridges Rock Gym is looking for a full-time Head Routesetter to manage our Routesetting program across two locations: Bridges Rock Gym in El Cerrito and Mosaic Boulders in Berkeley.

You will report directly to the General Manager, and assist them in assuring the quality, currency, and balanced scheduling of our Routesetting program. You will directly supervise our Routesetters, routeset, and help out at the gym in other areas as needed, including front desk, event organization, and occasional maintenance or expansion projects.

Responsibilities
As Head Routesetter, your primary responsibilities are to:

• Foster a fun, challenging, and rewarding customer experience.
• Hire, train, and manage a team of part-time routesetters
  Ensure the routesetting program meets the needs of the business and programming, including setting for our membership base, local competitions, and youth programs.
• Develop and maintain safety protocols in compliance with developing industry standards
• Ensure stock of all materials related to the routesetting department (holds, bolts, tape, t-nuts)
• Ensure company-owned tools and PPE are kept in good repair and well-organized
• Ensure facility as it relates to the Routesetting program is well-maintained and kept in good repair

In addition, you will assist the General Manager with the following Key Objectives, as needed:

• Maintain positive employee and customer relations
• Ensure the quality, currency, and balanced scheduling of our routesetting program
• Create and ensure compliance with efficient operational policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with Climbing Wall Association (CWA) standards
• Ensure in-house and out-of-house events are well-planned and run smoothly
• Ensure content (social media, review sites, company website, in-gym marketing) as it relates to the Routesetting program is kept relevant, informative, and current
• Ensure continued professional development of our Routesetters, including in-house and outside opportunities.

Qualifications

• Extensive personal climbing experience (5+ years), and dedication to the sport
• Extensive professional routesetting experience (3+years), in both commercial and competition settings
• USA Climbing Routesetting Certification Level 2 or higher preferred
• Experience with scheduling and supervision (1+ years)
• Experience organizing events, fundraisers, etc (1+ years)
• Experience with Marketing, Social Media
• Productivity Suite skills (Google Docs, Sheets, etc)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent leadership skills and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent organizational ability
• Able to forerun V8+ boulder problems
• Able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)

Compensation
This is a full-time, salaried position. Starting salary range is $54,000 to $60,000 per year. Starting salary is dependent on professional certifications, and experience.
