    Summer Camp Instructors at Bouldering Project are dependable, caring, joyful staff who facilitate bouldering day camps for kids ages 4-12. Instructors set clear expectations, lead engaging games and activities, provide fun challenges, and use positive reinforcement to foster and safe and inclusive environment for all summer campers. Instructors lead and facilitate climbing instruction, games, and activities for participants and are expected to follow and uphold all BP rules and policies.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Facilitate check-in, waivers, rental shoes, facility rules and orientations with youth program participants.
    • Develop and execute lessons that contribute to and reflect the quality of BP’s youth programs.
    • Facilitate day camps in collaboration with other youth programs staff and under the guidance of the programs manager.
    • Provide excellent customer service to all families entering the facility by communicating in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Provide ongoing feedback to youth, their families, and the programs manager regarding the needs and development of youth programs participants.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 18 years of age
    • Must be able to pass a background check
    • Enjoys working with youth
    • Weekday availability
    • Previous camp or customer service experience preferred
    • First AID/CPR certification preferred

    FACILITY SAFETY AND INCIDENT RESPONSE

    • Ensure the safety of participants, staff and other customers through group organization, oversight, and control.
    • Actively promote risk mitigation through ongoing instruction and orientation.
    • Respond to accidents and incidents following the BP Safety Manual and Protocol and properly document any incidents through incident report log.

    SCHEDULE AND EXPECTATIONS

    • Must attend camp instructor training in mid-May.
    • Camp days are Monday-Friday over AZ public school summer break, and are either 8am-12pm or 9am-3pm depending on age groups.
    • Additional hours may be available for Aftercare (3pm-6pm).
    • Schedule preferences will be considered.

    • This is a seasonal, part-time position starting at $15.50/hour.
