    We’re looking for someone to join Uplift Climbing as our Gym Manager.

    Uplift Climbing serves climbers. 

    This is our first mission. While the manner in which we practice it will likely change over time, everything we do will always be about serving rock climbers. This can come in many forms, from the quality of our routesetting to the manner in which we serve from the front desk. It’s our goal to be the best facility for climbers to come climb, train, and find their climbing community.

    In the same way that Uplift Climbing serves climbers, it is also our goal as a company to serve one another as coworkers. We believe that by serving each other, we create an environment that is welcoming, brings out the best in each of us, and fosters the climbing community we all love.

    As the Gym Manager, you’ll be responsible for the daily operations of Uplift Climbing, as well as the training and development of our staff. You will report to the Owner.

    At a minimum, your role will include:

    • Oversee the day to day operations of Uplift Climbing
    • Have a deep understanding of the Operations role, including front desk duties, customer service, sales, and daily cleaning duties.
    • Maintain a quality retail environment, providing customers with desirable product options.
    • Maintain a standard of customer service.
    • Maintain a standard of facility cleanliness.
    • Maintain a standard of risk management within the facility.
    • Employee scheduling.
    • Take the lead in event coordination and management.
    • Serve as a role model for positivity and professionalism, leading staff by example.
    • Facilitate annual staff reviews and ongoing performance check-ins. Perform corrective action as needed.
    • Take part in weekly check-ins with the Owner to ensure that business goals are being met.
    • Additional responsibilities based on the needs of the business.

    Candidates should have:

    • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
    • Strong customer service experience.
    • A passion for building relationships and communities.
    • Organizational and project management skills.
    • A desire to lead, grow, and develop a team.
    • Knowledge and experience in rock climbing, including an interest in learning and developing additional skills.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours to respond to facility needs. May include weekend and evening work.
    • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently.

    Compensation:

    • $25-$28/hr, depending on experience. 36 hours/week, Full time.
