Job Description: 

The IT Support role will work directly with the IT team to support daily operations at The Spot. In the IT Support position, you will be performing a wide variety of hardware and software maintenance and installations. Most tasks will need to be performed at one of our 4 facilities, and may require travel, while some tasks may be performed remotely. This position is considered “on call” and will need to be available to travel to facilities or address remote issues on an as needed basis. There will be some weeks where nothing is required of this position, and others where facilities may be in dire need of in-house IT support. This position is variable hour.

Compensation:

This position is on-call and may go week to week without any hourly requirement. Hourly pay will begin at $20-$30/hour commensurate with experience and skills. This role also comes with an all-access membership to The Spot Climbing Gyms.

Job Tasks: 

  • Support and maintain a wide variety of devices: Windows PC’s and laptops, 2011-2018 iMacs, iPads, MacbookPro’s, printers, routers, switches and Comcast phones
  • Set up and installation of new computers, typically front desk Mini PC’s
  • Support staff, troubleshooting and fixing issues that arise on their workstations
  • Support front desk staff during internet outages, typically restarting the modem or WiFi routers
  • Configuring printers and adding the device on staff workstations
  • Perform physical maintenance and cleaning of computers, i.e. blowing out PCs
  • Network maintenance including running cables, setting up routers, switches and WiFi access points
  • Maintain Webroot antivirus software and resolve any issues that arise with viruses, etc
  • Install and perform basic support for RGP POS software
  • Manage inventory lists and equipment tracking for all locations
  • Retire and recycle old equipment
  • Ensure backup computers are ready to roll out for all locations in case of POS failure
  • Create and maintain documentation for old and new SOP’s
  • Be available for on call work, and ready to respond to an issue within a reasonable amount of time based on the the severity of the problem

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with setting up and maintaining both Mac and Windows devices
  • Must have experience setting up and maintaining basic networks
  • Must be personable and provide good customer service
  • Must have good documentation skills

Nice to haves: 

  • Advanced network skills (custom guest networks, WAPs, WiFi Backups, security cameras, firewalls)
  • Knowledge of Ubiquiti networking systems
  • Knowledge of VOIP phone systems
  • Familiarity with the Rock Gym Pro POS system
  • Knowledge of cloud file hosting services like Google Shared Drives or MS OneDrive

Written descriptions of work performed or completed, as required.

Performance Review Schedule: 

30 days from hire-date, then semi-annually ongoing
