The Gravity Vault Marin management team is growing! We’re looking for an outstanding and outgoing individual with a strong work ethic to join our team as  Assistant Manager. As an integral part of the management team, the Assistant Manager will work closely with the General Manager and other team members to ensure that we have a safe, efficient operation and create an inclusive, inspiring, and engaging community for customers and our staff and have fun while doing it.

Specific Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Manage specific responsibilities as delegated by the General Manager, which may include: Scheduling,  marketing assistance, retail purchasing assistance, and staff supervision.
Responsible for on-site oversight and engagement in daily workflow productivity while maintaining excellent customer service
Through collaboration with the General Manager, produce dynamic weekly scheduling based on staff availability and capability while maintaining payroll budgeted hours and expenses.
Become an expert on all programs and options to climb with The Gravity Vault.
Help plan, execute, and work location-based events including but not limited to climbing competitions and member nights.
Coordinate staffing for events, classes, and instructor led climbing options.
Coordinate with management team to set goals and facility strategy
Provide excellent customer service to all customers in person, over the phone, and via email correspondence.
Provide expertise to customers on all programs and options to climb with The Gravity Vault.
Ensure company and brand wide standards are met, and that all employees are updated and comply with The Gravity Vault’s policies and procedures on programming, cleanliness, and safety.
Help train and manage all Shift Leader, Belayer, and Front Desk Employees.

Job Requirements:

Ability and Willingness to work Nights, Weekends and Holidays
Prior experience with indoor rock climbing preferred but not required
Demonstrated staffing and scheduling experience
2-5 years of full-time work experience
Supervisory experience in a climbing gym, fitness facility, or retail setting
Experience with Excel, scheduling software and POS Systems preferred
Excellent communication skills
CPR and CWI certification is a plus
All candidates must be willing to make the customer experience a priority and engage with climbers to keep them excited for climbing at The Gravity Vault!
Ability to take initiative and make confident decisions on the fly.
Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Climbing instruction experience, Indoor / outdoor climbing experience, is a plus.
CPR and CWI certifications are a plus.
