Training and development are essential to the success and retention of the personnel at The Front Climbing Club and Vertical Solutions. The role of Operational Training Specialist is to provide operational training to new hires as well as seasoned staff on business operations, operational software, Agile Methodology, and organizational processes. They will identify and create training programs to grow the knowledge of our staff and ensure consistency throughout the companies.

The Operational Training Specialist works collaboratively with both the Human Resources and Operations Teams. They will report directly to the Director of Employee Development.


  • Trainings
  • Responsible for designing, creating, and delivering effective training programs
  • Conducts both in-person and virtual training sessions
  • Continued analysis of training materials and workshops for optimal results
  • Provide ongoing support and mentoring to the staff for their continued success
  • Implement methods for evaluating training against the needs of the business
  • Collaborate with team and management to identify ongoing training needs
  • Suggest improvements to training events, programs, and material to improve effectiveness

Training programs to include (but not limited to):

  • Microsoft Azure DevOps basic use
  • Azure Backlog Overview Meeting
  • Azure Query Training
  • Ad Hoc Trainings
  • Azure Tag Brainstorms
  • Communication Guideline Reminder
  • Email Management Training
  • Basic Tools Training assigning task of reading each SOP


  • Collaborates with Operations Team on trainings for new roll outs for Azure DevOps functionalities and company tools
  • Collaborates with Business Analytics Team on building out departmental reports for strategic planning and departmental specific metrics
  • Collaborates with Human Resources Team to analyze departmental capacities to look for areas to improve efficiencies

Other Responsibilities

  • Works with fellow team members in Human Resources Department to coordinate and develop trainings for new hires
  • Understands business goals to recommend, create, and develops and updates new trainings to continually improve the efficiency of operations in the company.
  • Audits department’s use of tools and processes on a regular basis and provides feedback and additional trainings as needed
  • Helps departments improve efficiency within our processes by creating templates, queries, etc.
  • Adds individuals to Azure board
  • Updates permissions
  • Adds/updates relevant dashboard queries
  • Creates departmental specific templates in Azure DevOps
  • Rolls out updates to all staff
  • Is the go-to expert on all organizational productivity software
  • Designs and monitors key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of both the Front and Vertical Solutions HR practices
  • Assists with Human Resource administrative tasks as needed
  • Other duties and projects as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or another relevant field; Graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years human resource experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of training experience required
  • Expert abilities in the creation of training reports and materials, highly organized
  • Ability to develop and deliver both online and live trainings effectively
  • Flexibility to react and adjust quickly to training needs based on individual trainee’s ability within a group setting
  • Ability to lead discussions effectively as a speaker in a public forum both online and in person
  • Leadership skills and confidence in a fast-paced constantly changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation
  • Demonstrated success in developing training courses and curriculum
  • Must be proactive, a team player with a sense of humor, and someone who is adaptable and comfortable with change, ambiguity, and working independently
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 products, bonus points for knowledge of Agile Methodology and Scrum Process
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or other project management tool preferred
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be proactive.
  • Exceptional level of attention to details.
  • Must take pride in and maintain integrity in their work.
