Gym Overview

Session Climbing is opening its first location in early 2022. The gym is located in Santa Rosa, California, and is a 23,000 square-foot, ground-up build. Session will have indoor climbing, traditional and studio fitness, and a lounge along with other amenities. Programming will include climbing and fitness instruction, youth climbing teams, corporate and non-professional groups, and studio fitness classes. Session will regularly host events like member appreciation activities and climbing competitions.

Position Overview

The Membership Manager  is responsible for the growth and retention of Session’s membership through creative and evolving approaches to outreach and engagement with current and prospective members. The position involves managing email requests and questions from members, conceiving of and organizing small and large events at the gym, and a significant amount of data analysis and reporting on membership.

Applicant Overview

Applicants must be ready to start work by February, 2022, and be able to offer a two-year commitment. Applicants should also meet the position qualifications and must be able to grow and retain Session’s membership.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to start work in Santa Rosa by February 1st, 2022
    Have a vision for growing and adding value to Session’s membership
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with management
  • Consistently excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Learn and become proficient in software like Rock Gym Pro and Excel through self-guided tutorials as is necessary to perform job duties
  • Create and present reports on membership trends to management


  • Oversee onboarding process for new members, including assembling welcome packets, managing paperwork, and following up directly with members
    Provide customer service for members on billing, questions, suggestions, and complaints
  • Create and conduct online member surveys
  • Create and run membership promotions
  • Conceive of and organize small recurring events (weekly, monthly, and quarterly)
  • Help plan, promote, and run big events like climbing competitions
