Position: Assistant Head Routesetter
Pay Rate: $24-$27 an hour based on experience
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hour work weeks.
Start Date: TBD (Sometime between end of June 2023 and August 2023)

Job Description: This is a career level position with room for advancement in a quickly growing company. You will assist the Director of Routesetting in overseeing the setting teams day to day operations while fulfilling your daily routesetting requirements. As a manager on the setting team you will assist in the development of routesetting procedures, the development of newer routesetters, and upholding the PRG standard of excellence.
Setters will be expected to set at both our current gym (located in Portland, Oregon) and our new facility (located in Beaverton, Oregon) weekly. Our new Beaverton location will be opened in two phases with the first phase estimated to open summer of 2023.
The first phase will feature an 8000²+ft state of the art bouldering facility. Phase 2 will consist of more bouldering terrain (including a sheltered outdoor boulder) and 55ft tall Lead and Top Rope walls as well as a to spec IFSC speed wall.
This position has potential to develop into a Head Routesetter position with the completion of our new location in Beaverton, OR.
Job Responsibilities:
Run the day to day operations when the Director of Setting isn’t present.
Meet routesetting quota (2 routes or 5 boulders on average per shift)
Assist the Director of Setting in the tweaking and forerunning of the team’s product and make sure everything is kept up to the PRG standard.
Regular “housekeeping” tasks such as: set up and tear down, hold washing and sorting, keeping the spinner log(s) completed and up to date, updating Plastick/Kaya, etc.
Assisting with reviews of the regular setting team and additional professional development.
Requirements:
At Least 3 years of commercial setting experience.
5 plus years experience of climbing experience
Other managerial experience
Ability to forerun V8 and 5.13
Good communication skills
Ability to pass our Lead Test.
Desirables:
USAC L2 or better
Previous experience as a Head or Assistant Head Setter.
Youth Climbing team or Youth Climbing Team Coaching experience.
Plastick/Kaya Experience
Ability to Forerun V10 and 5.14

Position: Full-Time Routesetter
Pay Rate: $20-$24 hourly, based on experience
Hours: 36-40 hours, weekly

Job Description: This is a career level position with room for advancement in a quickly growing company. A full-time routesetter is responsible for the regular turn over of routes and boulders at both PRG facilities (Portland and Beaverton.) As a full-time setter you will learn all aspects of working in the setting department at PRG and will assist in various housekeeping tasks besides routesetting. Through our department you will have the opportunity to learn everything you need to know to advance your career.
Setters will be expected to set at both our current gym (located in Portland, Oregon) and our new facility (located in Beaverton, Oregon) weekly. Our new Beaverton location will be opened in two phases with the first phase estimated to open summer of 2023.

Requirements:

Ability to forerun V7 and 5.12+
Ability to pass our Lead Test.
Give and receive critical feedback.
Desirables:
USAC Level 1 or greater
Outside rope and bouldering experience.
Experience setting for USA Climbing.
Ability to Forerun V10 and 5.13+

Pay Rate: $18-$21 hourly, based on experience.
Hours: 8-24 hours, weekly.

Job Description: This is an entry level position with room for advancement. PRG is expanding and we have an increasing need for more setters. This position is designed to give a good applicant all of the tools they will need to turn routesetting into a long term career. The ideal candidates for this position are those who are serious about taking a run at a routesetting career as well as the listed requirements and desirables below.

At least 1 year of time that you can dedicate to a proper apprenticeship.
