Job Title

Head Routesetter

Job Purpose

Odyssey Climbing + Fitness (“Odyssey”) is opening the FIRST commercial climbing gym in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Odyssey is a climbing and fitness facility built to help you explore your unknowns. We create communities that empower members to grow and connect with those around them. Currently under construction, the gym is anticipated to open in January of 2023 and will serve to connect and build the climbing community across Northeast Wisconsin.

The Green Bay facility will be the first Odyssey location. With that, is being built to learn and grow along each step of the process from pre-opening to normal operations and beyond. Odyssey’s values are Community, Adventure, Humility, Grit and Growth. No one sends V10 their first day, it takes grit to adventure outside of their comfort zone and realize their goals. The Head Setter at Odyssey gets the opportunity to do that by building a team from the ground up! Equally as important, the Head Setter will set a tone of humility, by instilling a culture of meeting people where they’re at, teammate or member, regardless of their experience or skill. This type of opportunity is perfect for someone who is psyched on turning wrenches, growing a community and building a team.

We are looking for a Head Route Setter that has commercial climbing gym setting experience, with a strong desire to grow their own abilities as a setter, as a leader and as an individual. This person has an important part in growing Odyssey from a start-up gym (V0) to a state-of-the-art climbing gym (V15).

  • Stay in-the-know on industry standards for work at height, PPE, and general safety. Implement that knowledge into the expectations and standard operating procedures for our Team.

  • Manage Hold and Volume budget to address current and future needs of the gym

  • Participate in coordination of community events, competitions, classes, coaching, etc.
