SBP UdistrictJULY 21 2022 — U DISTRICT ANNOUNCEMENT

ANNOUNCEMENT:
In the Spring of 2011 we opened Seattle Bouldering Project with the dream of being a place for people to meet up with friends and climb in the city. Seattle Bouldering Project was two rooms of an otherwise empty warehouse building filled with as many climbing walls and as many boulder problems as we could put up. It was new, and it was beautiful because people met up with friends to climb, rolled around laughing on the pads, and formed the long lasting bonds that are created between climbers.

We love making places for people to climb with friends in the city, and we’ve found a building that will be our next Bouldering Project in Seattle. It’s the old University National Bank building up on The Ave in the University District. It has all the characteristics to become something special — it’s a Historic Preservation Landmark Building with wide open spaces that are awash in natural light, and situated in a stretch of the city that has more views to the mountains than places to climb on the daily.

The plan is to open the new gym in the Fall of 2023.

QUOTE:
“The Bouldering Project in the U District will be our third location in Seattle, and will create a new space for the ever growing community of climbers here to experience climbing, movement, and real human connection.”
Ashley Conlin, Regional Director
