Club Director – Richmond

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Club Director is directly responsible for overall operations, success, and risk management for TRC – Richmond. The Club Director is a Leadership Role and must have a constant awareness for developing a culture that provides a safe and exceptional experience to members and guests, while maximizing the income and profit potential for the facility. Additionally, the Club Director will work collaboratively with Managing Partners and other TRC Professional Staff to promote and develop a strong, engaged, climbing community.
The Club Director will be responsible for: reporting of all revenue streams; providing an extraordinary climbing experience for all guests and members; hiring, training, retaining, and scheduling of all staff; risk management; policy and procedure development.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to –
§ Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate quality employees who are committed to providing each TRC customer with an extraordinary experience
§ Maintain a strong facility culture with a priority to: Risk Management, Community Engagement, and Sales
§ Monitor quantitative data to understand how the facility is performing relative to its potential with a priority to Membership, Day Use, Programs, and Retail
§ Collaborate with other Club Directors and Managing Partners to share best practices and continually improve Club operations, facilities, and customer interactions
§ Collaborate with the Corporate Membership Manager to build and maintain a strong membership base – in terms of both a community and a financial perspective
§ Collaborate with the Corporate Marketing Director to continue building community engagement and promotion of all TRC offerings
§ Collaborate with the Head of Routesetting to have quality boulder and rope routes that match the needs of the community
§ Seek new and maintain existing B2B relationships, giving and receiving special treatment from TRC partners
§ Constantly seeks feedback from group leaders, members, and guests regarding their TRC experience
§ Maintain Club equipment including maintenance/inspection schedules, repair, or ordering of new equipment
§ Review monthly financial results, accomplishments, challenges, and action items with Managing Partners
§ Analyzes annual membership survey to better understand membership needs and perceptions. Builds and executes action plan based on relevant member input.
§ Actively climbs at the facility and frequently interacts with the customer base.
§ All tasks as requested by Management.
REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
· BA/BS degree preferred
· 4 years’ experience in the indoor climbing industry
· A demonstrated history of performing at a high level and increasing responsibility, including supervisory experience
· A strong history of coaching and leading a team to exceptional performance
· Strong relationships building skills – with customers, co-workers, and strategic partners
· Extensive background in sales, customer service, and customer facing roles.
· Demonstrated analytical skills
· Word and EXCEL proficiency with strong written and oral communication skills
· Experience managing a profit and loss statement preferred
· Openness to continued personal/professional development and coaching
· Demonstrated passion for climbing
